I want to start a home based business and I need to know if anyone has registered with them, how successful are/were you and what was your investment. Also, how long did it take for you to begin making a profit?

nothing fanciful. but i have been working my butt off for the last 2-3 weeks and not one sale.. not sure how long it usually takes though.. there is a link at the bottom of my page though for them and please stay in touch and let me know if you figure out anything that works and any marketing strategies as well..

we already have a successful website and do all types of internet marketing. i need some fresh ideas to market the company outside of the internet

If you get your products from a vendor, call your sales rep and ask about vendor support dollars. If you make the furniture yourself, see if local computer vendors will agree to recommend your products for a percentage or a flat fee per buying referral.

Question by miamivice: What should be the minimum % profit after all expenses for a business to be deemed successful.?
We have been selling on the Internet for about 5 years, mainly our own brand. We have reached a plateau at 750K/year. Although all expenses are covered including salaries, there is very little net profit left over at the end of the year. What would be considered a resonable net profit percentage for most companies?
Also, should a company show net profit to be deemed successful?

A reasonable net profit margin would be 10% – 15%. This would be Gross Revenue minus ALL expenses. This portion should be your clear return for having done the work to get there. If you are taking in less than this consider investing your money since you should be able to easily average 10% – 12% from investments and not have to do the work.
