HOA Campaign Flyer , Have you seen one done before?

sterling property management
by Fergal of Claddagh

Question by BeeBee: HOA Campaign Flyer , Have you seen one done before?
Do you have any ideas on what may be the best approach for a campaign flyer ? I am on the ballot for next months election and was quite taking back by one that I already mentioned by another board member. His clearly stated he spearheaded all activiities over the last 4 months, attempting to take “credit” for our boards decisions. He personally has listed things that clearly show no working knowledge of Davis Sterling, ccrs bylaws and rules.

I myself do not have the intention of running this man into the ground ( but would love to with this yahoo) , but would like to make reference that I would hold the board to follow the above mentioned. ( In the past the board on a whole has made errors due to lack of working knowledge of the ds, ccr etc.) I personally have brought a few things to light with them which was NOT accepted until it was confirmed by our management comapany and atty. I would like to protect our property from all possible liability and hold keeping the property to a high cosmetic standard. ( It has bad paint, awnings torn and our board thinks this is ok! )

ANY IDEAS on how this should be phrased or have you seen a campaign letter that you could give an example?

( I also plan on referencing our own ccr’s which clearly states the electtion proceedure, #1 due to the fact most don’t know how it works.. and #2 the above mentioned yahoo asked people to mark “Ed for President” on their ballot. ( It doesn’t work that way here. )

THank you in advance.. I hope to hear a reference or idea or two.

I think there are two bases that you should make sure you have covered.

The first is to make sure you understand the issues facing your association and you understand what is on people’s minds. In order to do this, you must talk to the members of your association. Listen carefully, and look for patterns in everything you see and hear. You should spend a lot of time listening and asking questions. Talk to as many association members as you can on an informal basis. Soon you’ll start to see a pattern about what’s really going on, or confirm what you already know. Even though you may have some strong opinions or ideas for improving the association, you should talk to others to get a broader viewpoint of what is on member’s minds. Use that information to build some initial hypotheses about how you would change things for the better.

Secondly, you should develop a personal profile for yourself. It is important to write down your initial thoughts for this item, as it will force you to be clear and succinct. Association members may or may not know you as a person and in particular, how qualified you are to assume the role of a Board member. You should be able to freely talk to them about yourself and answer any questions that they may have of you. You also may want to interject this unsolicited information to them during conversations, to help gain their credibility and confidence. Your personal profile should include:
– A two-minute elevator speech on your qualifications and what strengths and experiences you bring to the position
– What you believe the role of the BoD is to perform
– Values that you intend to practice while serving as a Board member
— A list of important issues that you believe should be addressed in the short term (i.e. next 30-60 days)

This personal profile will also serve as the foundation for your campaign flyer

Good Luck

Grant application question- “Do you forsee any risks which may affect your project?”?

Question by radical_truth2000: Grant application question- “Do you forsee any risks which may affect your project?”?
The project involves providing workshops (on parenting, mental health, relationships, finances, housing, legal etc) to young parents under the age of 25 and assisting them with access to employment and education. We will also be providing a bus pick-up service, lunch and childcare.

This is my first grant application and I am unsure as to which catigory of risks they are referring.

Am I supposed to include our organisations whole risk management policy and proceedures document?
Does it include risks to clients attending the project, such as the bus crashing on the way to a workshop?
Or is this just risks to the project such as the co-ordinator going insane and stooting them all?

Please only answer if you have knowledge on grant writing for social services.
(No, being ON social services doesn’t count sorry)

They basically are asking what potential problems may arise that would affect your project negatively. Being affected negatively would be things like running out of funding in the middle of the project (you didn’t ask for enough), city/county regulations changing, what happens if you can’t get the enrollment you wanted to have, potential problems with the bussing issues, staffing issues, etc.

Not risks like something insane happening. They just want to know that you have thought of possible obstacles you might face along the way and how you would deal with those challenges to overcome them so that your project will be completed (they want to make sure they won’t be funding a project that is destined for failure).

I am sorry to hear the problems you are experiencing so I hope this advice will help

You should speak to your teacher, counselor and etc. about your situation to see if they can help you to rectify this situation

Did you ask your supervisor for any help? Maybe there is a user manual, videos, DVDs, and etc. that you can use? Is there any type of computer support?

You can also try to ask your supervisor or IT support for the company name of the software you are using…Usually these software companies would have their own website in which you can get technical support, help, resources and etc. and they would have resources like tutorials, videos, user manuals and etc. to learn how to use their software

As for Microsoft software there are many Internet resources you can use

You can also use a search engine like Google.com to find many free tutorials, forums and other information

For example if you want to learn Excel 2003 then you can go to Google.com and type in “Excel 2003 tutorial” and then you will find many good tutorials for learning Excel 2003.

Microsoft.com has many tutorials and various support resources for learning how to use their software and products

Teach ICT has many free video tutorials and information for learning computer skills

There are many forums for Microsoft Office and etc…you can ask them for any advice and information

MS Office forum

Well the actual act of project management would be the same. However, the culture is different so the implementation and the meaning of the steps will differ. Also the industry and individual culture of the company will have an impact. DA

Colossus – The Forbin Project (1970) Part 5

Forbin(Eric Braeden) is the designer of an incredibly sophisticated computer that will run all of America’s nuclear defenses. Shortly after being turned on, it detects the existence of Guardian, the Soviet counterpart, previously unknown to US Planners. Both computers insist that they be linked, and after taking safeguards to preserve confidential material, each side agrees to allow it. As soon as the link is established the two become a new Super computer and threaten the world with the immediate launch of nuclear weapons if they are detached. Colossus begins to give it’s plans for the management of the world under it’s guidance. Forbin and the other scientists(Susan Clark, Gordon Pinsent, William Schallert and Leonid Rostoff) form a technological resistance to Colossus which must operate underground.
